Aurora Rebecca (Beckie) Harmes passed away March 24, 2021, she was sixty-seven years of age just fifteen days short of her sixty-eighth birthday. She was born April 8, 1953 in Gardner, Colorado to parents Tony and Duby Harmes (both deceased). She was one of fourteen children and is survived by six siblings.
She was married for forty-eight years and just two months shy of forty-nine years to her husband and she has two children from her one and only marriage. She was a grandmother (she was called grandmama) to four grandchildren and on great-grandson. She also had a black cat named George and a pug named Sarah whom she absolutely adored (those were her babies).
She has many friends and family who loved seeing the smile she had on her face for everyone she met.
She was a devoted Denver Broncos fan, faithfully cheering them on, on every Sunday of every season and attended some games over the years. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and having a game night with her family. She was extremely fond of Easter and coloring eggs with her family. She loved holidays and made a great big deal about all of them. Christmas was a cheerful home decorating time.
She retired from Douglas County School District where she was employed as a Security Specialist. She was a breast cancer survivor and she never let anything stop her from enjoying life. She was always the life of the party and made everyone feel welcome and hosted many parties on the “farm”.
