Stephen Darnell Scheid

Stephen D. Scheid, 73, of Castle Rock, CO passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 after several years of declining health related to ESRD. Steve died peacefully with his beloved wife, Robin, and their children by his side.

Steve was born September 1, 1948 in Fort Hood, Texas. He was raised in Austin,TX and graduated from Austin High School. Shortly after graduation he began his military service in the U.S. Army and served for a total of 11 years. Steve served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 as a Telecom Center Specialist, Telegraphic & Crypto Operator, Medical Specialist in the 15th Medical Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, and MAC-V. His commendations included National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, & Expert Rifle. His education included an Associates Degree in Business and Certification as an Ophthalmology Assistant. In addition to building security work, Ophthalmology & Eye Care, he really enjoyed working for a brief time as a ranch hand.
In his 20’s Steve had made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ, which he did throughout the rest of his life. He often pointed others to the Lord.
Steve met & married his bride, Robin, in 1977. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family. He loved wearing blue jeans & cowboy boots, country music, riding his motorcycle, old westerns, playing horseshoes, laughing & making others laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Scheid; son, Quinn Scheid (Emilie); daughter, Brittany Carlson (Matthew “Willie”);
7 grandchildren: Katherine, Zachary, Declan, Keviah, Sven, Caris & Gunnar; brothers Jesse, Michael, and Steve Jacobson, Eddie Bearden; sister Patricia Bridges; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews;
Steve was a Vietnam Veteran who honorably served his country and joyfully served the Lord with all his heart.

10:00am on May 12th at
Castleview Baptist Church

followed by a Military Commital Service
at 1:15pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80235, Please go to “Area C” once on site.
